The short answer: ChainShift is a Korean GEO SaaS built around "real-user-environment" collection

If you want to know what kind of AI search optimization company ChainShift is, three facts cover it. The team formed in Antler Korea's sixth cohort and incorporated in 2025. Four months after founding, it was selected for TIPS, the startup program run by Korea's Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and press coverage at the time put its cumulative revenue at KRW 350 million (Maeil Business Newspaper, 2025)[4]. Its product, a subscription SaaS that shares the company name, manages everything from brand visibility in AI answers to content optimization on a single screen[1].

The deciding question is how it collects data. The company says most measurement tools pull data through APIs, while ChainShift uses its own AI orchestration system to gather answers from real user environments (Tech42, 2026)[5]. No public outside validation of that method's accuracy exists yet. Pricing is public, which is rare among Korean tools, and the higher tiers include Naver AI Briefing and Naver AI Tab[2].

This page covers who ChainShift is, how the product works, its plans, where its own public materials disagree, and how it stacks up against Korean alternatives. Everything here reflects public sources checked in October 2026.

30-second definitions

  • ChainShift is a Korean AI search optimization (GEO, AEO) SaaS company that aims to help brands manage their presence in AI answers as a KPI[1].
  • AI Visibility (Visibility %) is ChainShift's core KPI, meant to show how often a brand appears in AI answers across a fixed set of questions[1].
  • AI Citation Rate (Citation %) is a ChainShift KPI meant to show how often a brand's own channels appear among the sources AI answers rely on[1].
  • Real-user-environment collection is ChainShift's data collection method, which gathers the answers users actually see in the chatbot interface rather than API responses[5].

For the underlying concepts of GEO and AEO, see What Is GEO.

Antler Korea announced new investments in nine teams from its sixth cohort in October 2025, and the list included "AI search optimization (GEO) solution ChainShift (ChainShift.ai)" (Money Today, 2025)[7]. The company's About page says it was chosen from the top 0.8% of Antler Korea's sixth cohort and lists venture company certification and selection as a Seoul Business Agency (SBA) incubated company[3]. The selection rate is the company's own figure.

The team splits across marketing, platform strategy, and engineering. Per the interview, CEO Han Yong-hee spent 10 years in brand marketing at Johnson & Johnson, COO Joo Min-geon previously led platform business strategy at Cafe24, and CTO Kim Jin-yong was an engineer at Naver Cloud (Tech42, 2026)[5]. By the July 2026 coverage, the listed CEO had changed to Joo Min-geon (Chosun Biz, 2026)[6]. Public sources give no reason for the change.

How the ChainShift solution works

The official homepage presents the product as four modules: prompt design based on the consumer purchase journey plus visibility measurement; analysis of AI answer sources by platform; marketing insights covering opportunity areas and hallucination risk; and AI-friendly content generation grounded in answer analysis, with performance measurement[1]. In the interview, the company framed this as two stages, diagnosis (Phase 1) and optimization (Phase 2) (Tech42, 2026)[5].

ChainShift product flow: from diagnosis to optimization Phase 1 Diagnosis Phase 2 Optimization 01 Prompt design Visibility measurement 02 AI answer sources Citations by platform 03 Marketing insights Opportunities, risks 04 Content optimization Post-launch measurement Remeasure Visibility and Citation before and after, feed into next diagnosis Source: ChainShift official homepage (2026), Tech42 interview (2026)
ChainShift product flow. Steps 1 to 3 are diagnosis and step 4 is optimization; after execution, remeasurement results loop back into diagnosis (ChainShift, 2026; Tech42, 2026).

The homepage FAQ describes three measurement methods: fanout-based question expansion that widens the set of questions AI actually uses, comparison of cited sources across platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity, and scoring of sentiment and risk in the context where the brand is mentioned[1]. Each analysis comes with action items. The homepage's examples: suggest distributing content to channels with low citation, and recommend a response campaign when a competitor's share of voice (SOV) spikes[1].

The company also publishes data volume figures. The homepage cites "analysis of more than 30 million answers" as the basis for content generation (ChainShift, 2026)[1], and in the interview the company said it tracks 10 million data points and more than 8,400 brands in beauty alone (Tech42, 2026)[5]. Both are self-reported and have not been externally audited. Teams that want raw data instead of a dashboard can take it through an API, and the API description says it collects answers and sources from 8 AIs in a single format[1].

ChainShift pricing and plans

The table below reflects the pricing page as checked in October 2026. Prices are shown as bands rather than exact figures; confirm the actual amount on the official page (public list price, subject to change)[2].

Moving from Starter to Pro quadruples prompts and multiplies credits by eight (ChainShift pricing page, 2026)[2]. In practice the bigger gap is the platform list. Naver AI Briefing and Naver AI Tab only start at Pro, so a brand with a large Korean customer base cannot measure its Korean exposure on Starter alone[2]. The homepage FAQ adds that pricing varies with the number of tracked keywords and questions and the scope of analysis[1].

Evidence: public sources disagree on how many AIs are tracked

ChainShift's own materials give different counts for tracked AIs. The homepage copy says "7 LLM models," the API description says "8 AIs," the Pro plan lists 8 platforms, and a July 2026 Chosun Biz article says "11 major generative AI models"[1][2][6].

None of the public materials explain the gap. The count can shift depending on whether the unit is a "model" or a "platform," and on whether multiple surfaces from one company (for example, Google AI Overview and Google AI Mode) are counted separately. For contract decisions, the pricing page, which names each platform, is the more reliable reference[2]. Why scores diverge when tools differ in engine coverage and counting rules is covered separately in Why AI Visibility Tools Report Different Numbers.

Other verifiable facts:

  • Customer mentions: The homepage user feedback section shows testimonials attributed to Amorepacific, LG Electronics, CJ Wellcare, Searchnine, and Daehong Communications (ChainShift, 2026)[1].
  • Project industries: The company says it has run GEO projects in finance, electronics, beauty, health supplements, and pharmaceuticals (Chosun Biz, 2026)[6].
  • Self-description: The homepage positions ChainShift as the "No.1 AI search optimization solution." No third-party ranking backing this is public[1].
  • AWS listing: The company described itself as the first Korean GEO solution listed on AWS Marketplace. The claim was reported as the company's own account (Chosun Biz, 2026)[6].

ChainShift vs. Korean AI visibility solutions

Deciding on ChainShift means lining it up against Korean alternatives on the same axes. The table below uses only what each company publishes on its official pages. Prices are shown as bands or as inquiry.

Read the table on three axes. The first is what gets measured. ChainShift and OPTIANALYTICS both deal with AI visibility but count different things: Next-T's tool counts signals that AI bots fetched your pages[10], while ChainShift asks questions and counts brand appearances in the answers[1]. The second is Naver coverage. ChainShift and SOHA list Naver AI surfaces; RanketAI's public list does not[2][9][8]. The third is execution scope. ChainShift says it has built a content generation engine, but in the interview the company explained that this area is currently delivered as one-off consulting (Tech42, 2026)[5].

BOIDA is Designovel's BVI (Brand Visibility Index), launched in December 2025, and it has published a setup that runs from measurement through diagnosis to execution[11]. The core issue: why "real-user-environment collection" is contested

AI answers change from one run to the next, even for the same question. In the interview, Han Yong-hee explained that because AI answers vary probabilistically, a handful of manual searches cannot establish visibility, and large volumes of data are needed (Tech42, 2026)[5]. Up to this point, the whole industry agrees. ChainShift's added claim is that API responses can differ from what users actually see on screen, so data has to be collected directly from the user environment[5].

If that claim holds, it shows up in two places. One is the gap right after a model update: the company says its orchestration lets it keep collecting without delay when models change[5]. The other is cost: the company claims it can use large volumes of data far more cheaply than API-based approaches[5]. Both claims come from a company interview, and we found no public test comparing its results with an API-based tool on the same question set.

The practical step is simple. A team evaluating the tool might pick 20 to 30 core questions about its own brand, run ChainShift and one other tool over the same period, and start by checking how often they agree on whether the brand was mentioned. For how to set up simultaneous measurement across engines, see the Multi-Engine Measurement Guide.

Action: what to check before adopting ChainShift

  1. List the surfaces you need to track first. Write down the AI engines your customers use and decide whether you need Naver AI Briefing and Naver AI Tab. If you do, Pro or higher is your baseline, not Starter[2].
  2. Confirm the platform count on the pricing page. Instead of relying on the conflicting 7, 8, and 11 figures, verify contract scope against the named platform list on the pricing page[1][2][6].
  3. Count your prompts. Tally questions for each stage of the purchase journey and see whether you fit in 25 (Starter) or 100 (Pro)[2].
  4. Put execution scope in the contract. Confirm whether content optimization is a product feature or separate consulting[5].
  5. Validate the collection method with parallel measurement. Compare it with another tool on the same question set over a set period (say, 2 to 4 weeks). Korean alternatives are listed in AI Visibility Tool Recommendations.
  6. Put the price band on the same axis as other tools. Use the GEO Tool Pricing Overview for cost comparison, but weigh measurement scope and execution linkage above the price itself.

Wrap-up

ChainShift is a Korean GEO and AEO startup that started in Antler Korea's sixth cohort in 2025 and was selected for TIPS four months after founding[4][7]. Its product is a subscription SaaS that bundles visibility measurement, citation source analysis, insights, and content optimization. Two tiers, entry and mid, have public pricing, and Naver surfaces start at Pro[2]. Its headline differentiator, real-user-environment collection, is still a company claim, so verify it with parallel measurement. The inconsistent tracked-AI counts across sources are something to raise before you sign.
